Hanna- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

My natural hair color is dark brown. I usually bleach it to a light orange but I used a better bleach this time and it came out very light with yellow bits here and there. This is Special Effects Atomic Pink, I left it on for an hour. The photos were taken about a week after dying it.

Pixel Neko_ Hair Dye used: Special Effects Cupcake Pink

My natural hair is black, I beached it until it was almost white. This photo is Cupcake Pink from special effects about 3 weeks after dyed it.

Veronica- Hair Dyes used: Special Effects Atomic Pink, Wildflower, Fishbowl, Blue Mayhem, Cupcake Pink

My hair was brown before I bleached it White and then sectioned it off into layers giving it the rainbow effect!

I always use special effects because it lasts so long and gives an awesome bright color effect…

Amy- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

My hair is naturally black, but I bleached it to a pale yellow-blonde colour before applying the dye.
This photo was taken about two and a half weeks after dyeing it. I love Special Effects and the staying power of Atomic Pink! The colour stays strong months later, and I only need to reapply it when I'm bleaching my roots.

Jessica- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink, Deep Purple

I LOVE special effects:After reading great reviews I picked special effects for my hair dye adventure and since then I swear I will never use anything else. Nothing is as long lasting or as vibrant as SE, I love it! Here’s two pics of what my hair looked like in college. My hair is naturally DARK brown so I had to lift the colour to a golden-blonde to get the effect but I could rock the pink till my roots started to take over and then I’d touch up. It lasts THAT long. The colours I used were atomic pink, with a few streaks of deep purple for fun. The first pic is about a week after dying, the second pic is about 2-3 weeks of colour.

Ashlei Rose- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

Hey. I bleached my hair before dyeing. And I absolutely Love the color. Its so vibrant
The first photo is a week or two after dyeing.
and the second is like 2 months after dyeing. I’ll swear by special effects now lol.

KP- Hair dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

First I bleached my hair to a light blonde.
Then applied about a third of a bottle (1 bottle works for three applications for me)
of Special Effects-Atomic Pink
and let it sit for about two hours.
One application has lasted me about a month with minimal wash out!
This picture was taken a week and half after dyeing!
Even after washing my hair daily it retained it's brightness.
Great color, very vivid and it has a great lifespan!

Louise- Hair dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

Used Special Effects Atomic Pink.
I had to bleach it, og colored it black indside.
its the 3th time i dyed it. It last about 2 month.

Mandi- Hair dye used: Special Efects Atomic Pink

Special Effects Atomic Pink.
Just Atomic Pink
It was black before I started.
Yes. I used L'Oreal Feria Extra Bleach Blonde to bleach it.
I dyed it about 5 months ago, then again 3 weeks ago.

Tiffany- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

I used special effects atomic pink. I had to bleach my hair because it was a dark brand. my bangs are a turquoise but the pink is whats by special effects. ive been dying my hair for 2 and a half years but this is my first time using special effects and will never turn back. i havent dyed my hair in over a month and its still super bright!

Ven- Hair Dye used: Manic Panic Hot Hot Pink

This is the first time i dyed my hair hot hot pink from manic panic i friggin loved it i cant remember how long it lasted but it was so vibrant and beautiful.

Amanda- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

My first picture was SFX Atomic Pink mixed with toner.

The secondtime I used undiluted Atomic Pink over faded Atomic Pink/Toner. The picture was taken within a few days of dyeing my hair

Bootz- Hair Dye used: special Effects Atomic Pink

I love special effects!! Here's pics of my hair with special effects atomic pink over bleached blonde hair. I let sit for about an hour.Pics are taken two weeks after coloring. I wash, straighten and blow dry my hair every single day. Color is still bright as ever!!

also a pic of my daughter. We used special effects atomic pink over her natural hair color. Left it in for an hour. It came out a sorta burgundy. Pics are taken same day. She lives it!! I felt comfortable using this product on her hair. It didn't damage and looked shiny and healthy!!

Kimberly Zombie- Hair dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink, Deep Purple

I used Special Effects Atomic Pink, Special Effects Deep Purple and permanent black hair dye. The black is on the top, for the middle section its Atomic Pink and the bottom layer is Deep Purple. My hair is originally black. So I had to bleach it using Vol 30 developer and left it in my hair for half hour. Washed it off, sectioned my hair and began to dye my hair. I leave the dye on for about 1 hour. For the first two pictures, They were the day after I dyed my hair, and the third isfrom 3 weeks without retouching. The 5th picture is me with black light! As you can see it glows like the bottle says so!

Marisa- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink, cupcake Pink

I wanted to make a comparison photo so that people could see the difference between the two types of pink. It can be really hard to tell on different people and different pages, but looking at it side-by-side from the same person done by the same salon, it is much easier to see the difference. Both pictures were taken fresh after getting it dyed; the hair was toned to platinum blonde before dying, and the brown is the natural color of my hair. Both glow in UV light. From what I have been told, the Atomic pink will fade to more of a cupcake pink, so if you're looking for a longer lifespan, Atomic is the way to go. But both last quite a bit.

Sarrah- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

Special Effects Atomic Pink I originally have dark brown/black hair, so i had to bleach my hair first.
it's been, about a month since i've dyed my hair, and the color is still vibrant.
i love Special Effects, it works better than any dye i've ever used.

Kirstyn- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Cupcake Pink

First bleached it to a white color from a black/brown color. this was about a month after dyeing.it didnt not really faid at all. i was very happy on how long it lasted and i am thinking about dying it again.

Angela- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

I used the Atomic Pink on Bleached hair, the second picture is after a month and a half.

JulI- Hair dyes used: Special Effects Atomic Pink, Cupcake Pink

This is atomic pink and cupcake pink mixed together.

Vicky- Hair dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

Bleached hair. First is right after dyeing, the second pic is after two months and 25 washes.

Amanda- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

I used Special Effects Atomic Pink mixed with Special Effects Mixer/Toner. I used more toner than dye. Probably about 3:1
Most of my hair is still its natural color. I bleached an underlayer of my bangs using Ion sensitive scalp 20 vol and Ion powder. I had to bleach my hair a couple of times to get it to a light yellow and then I used Special Effects Toner to negate a lot of the yellow tones before I used the dye.
I left the dye in for about an hour
The photo was taken after dyeing

Miranda- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Cupcake Pink, Atomic Pink

I used Special effects dye, cupcake pink with atomic pink streaks.
My hair was a very light blonde, and yes I had to bleach it.
I just dyed it the day before.

Loki- Hair dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink, Blue Mayhem, Pimpin Purple

pic 1 - Special Effects Atomic Pink
Pic 2 Special Effects Atomic Pink
pic 3 - Special Effects Atomic Pink / Special Effects Blue Mayhem / Special Effects Pimpin Purple
My hair was Black before i started to dye it, i had to bleach it all out with White Out 40 Vol Bleach before coloring. i Re-Dye once every 3 months.

Im laura i had dyed my hair hot pink and ultra violet from manic panic which lasted 6 weeks!..i recently rebleached my hair to this golden color and applied pillarbox red on top and my bangs and ultra violet under neath...idk if pillarbox glows yet so im excited to go clubbing and find out (=

Makenzie- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pin, Blue Mayhem

I used SFX hair dye and i used Atomic Pink and Blue Mayhem. I had to bleach it out first, i used 40 vol bleach, because i have thick hair. My hair was dark brown before i bleached it. The picture was about a week after wards.

Morgan- Hair Dye used: Punky Flamingo Pink

My hair was (obviously) a dark brown before I started.
I bleached it with 40 volume lightener to a pale yellow.
This was freshly colored. Usually I do it on the underside
of my hair so I don't have to keep up my regrowth so often
and it will last up to 2 months without needing touched up.

Marissa- Hair dye used: Special Effects Cupcake Pink

I used Special Effects brand Cupcake Pink. The photo was taken day-of. Though it looks like tips, the entire bottom layer of hair all around was dyed pink (after being toned from my natural color), leaving a top layer my natural brown. A few highlights of the color were also mixed in with the brown to help it blend.

Allison- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

My hair was already bleached so i just went over it again with a 40 developer
-In this picture, the pink has been in for at least 2-2 1/2 weeks
-When first dying it with the Atomic pink, i let it sit for 3 hours before washing.
i absolutely love this color!!

Megan- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Cupcake Pink

My hair had been bleached to a light blond and I used Special Effects Cupcake Pink hair dye over it, leaving it in my hair for about 3-4 hours before rinsing. It lasted about 3 weeks before needing to be dyed again.

Gemini- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink, Deep Purple

I used Atomic Pink and Deep Purple (as low Lights)* When started hair was black, and it was bleached first. I dyed it every two or three months to keep the color strong.

Blacklight effect with- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

I have light blonde hair and I use Atomic Pink on the first layer without applying Bleach. The pictures is taken under blacklight.
How long has it been since you dyed it? 2 week

Natalie- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

What color was your hair before you started? Medium brown
PS-What a fantastic color!!! I love it :D

Cathy- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

i bleached, and used special effects hair dye in atomic pink purchased through your website. i've had this color for about 4 months now, doing only root touch-ups every 5-6 weeks. love love LOVE my pink bangs!!

Ashley- Hair dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink, Cupcake Pink

I had platinum blonde hair from Sept '09 till May '10, when I decided to dye my hair pink. I ordered Special Effects Atomic Pink and Special Effects Cupcake Pink hairdye from Funky Shop. I mixed 75% Cupcake Pink with 25% Atomic Pink, and let it process for about one hour. It came out a nice bright fuschia color.. it's been about a month since I dyed it, and it's still as vibrant as it was after I first dyed it. My roots have faded a little, to a light light pink color, but other than that it's excellent. Here are some pictures!!

Laura- Hair dyes used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

I have dark brown hair (with some grey <gasp!>) and I used Manic Panic Flash Lightening 40 until it was nearly white. Then I colored with Special Effects Atomic Pink. I have tried other colors - cupcake pink and other reds and blues and orange, but I LOVE Atomic Pink because it lasts forever before it even starts to fade (Forever = 8 weeks or more before fading starts) And one of the things I like best is that I cannot go out at all without getting compliments all the time - little girls stare at me with this awed look on their faces. You can almost see them thinking "Oh! I hope my hair turns that color when I grow up!" And every other age from 15-85 tells me how much they love my hair.

Laura- Hair Dye used: Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink, Ultraviolet

Im laura and i just used manic panic hair dye in the colors of cotton candy pink and ultra violet..i LOVE the results, i wanted to do something different for my 26th bday(= my hair was orignally dark brown, i bleached just the top section til yellow blonde..then i section off the middle to dye cotton candy pink and the 2 side areas ultra violet and left it in overnite

Pic 3 i had dyed my hair hot pink and ultra violet from manic panic which lasted 6 weeks!..i recently rebleached my hair to this golden color and applied pillarbox red on top and my bangs and ultra violet under neath...idk if pillarbox glows yet so im excited to go clubbing and find out (=
..thanx

Hair Dye used: Special Effects Cherry Bomb, Atomic Pink, Pimpin Purple

Cherry Bomb(on left)This is a month after I dyed it. Next to me is a friend of mine. She has Pimpin' Purple over natural unbleached hair on top, and Atomic Pink over bleached hair on the bottom. The pink in her hair is 6 months old. She only has to touch up the roots in the purple.

Katie- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Fishbowl, Pimpin Purple, Cupcake Pink

i used special effects hair dye, fishbowl, cupcake pink on the top, and pimpin' purple on the bottom. my hair is origonally dark brown, i bleached it on the top and bottom. this picture wa taken a few hours after being dyed.

Jacki W- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

I have medium dark brown hair. My friend helped with the first application. We used a tinting cap as I didn’t want my whole head dyed.I don’t recommend using a tinting cap, it’s quite painful if you have long hair and can feel like your hair is being ripped from the scalp L Foils are preferable. We mixed bleach and activator until pasted was formed and left in hair for around 20mins or so.I shampooed, rinsed and dried my hair then we applied the hair dye (Special Effects atomic pink) using gloves and just rubbing it into the hair rather than using a brush. This was quite effective, the colour was extremely vibrant and I like the way my hair had different shades of pink through it. (note: I used around half a bottle for half my hair which is midway down my back in length).I had had the hair dye in for around 2 weeks (7-8 washes) when this photo was taken.

Sian- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

I used Special Effects Atomic Pink. My hair was black before I started, I had been dying it black for the past 8 years but my natural colour is a very dark (almost black) brown. I bleached my hair about 4 times until it was a pale yellow (that was as light as I could go without destroying my hair), each time I used 2x boxes of Manic Panic Flash Lightener 40vol because my hair is quite long. I mixed the Atomic Pink 50/50 with conditioner.
In this photo it had been about 1 week since I had dyed my roots, but the rest of the colour hadn't been touched since I dyed it a little over 2 months before. Photo taken by Dave Edney.

Morgan- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink, Cupcake Pink

Special Effects. Mixed Atomic Pink and Cupcake Pink
Hair Color- Blonde
My hair was already bleached, yes.
It's been 3 weeks.

Isabelle- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Cupcake Pink, Atomic Pink, Manic Panic Atomic Turquoise

I mixed the pinks together in a 50/50 mix and used the turquoise straight up.My hair is naturally dark blonde, so I have my friend who's a hairdresser bleach the roots and the strips for the blue. I recently switched to Special Effects and I loooove this dye, it last longer than any other product I've tried. This photo is 3 weeks since the last dye job, and the color is still vibrant.

Kylee-Hair dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink, Wallflower

Special Effects Hair Dye-Atomic Pink on end and Wild Flower on Roots.Colors were applied at the same time, left on for 2 hours.Over bleached hair close to a light yellow. Colors are brighter in person.I have dark brown hair.Hair in photo is freshly dyed.

Pinky- Hair dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink, Cupcake Pink

I use SE Atomic Pink and I Heart it forever!!! I have done highlights with cupcake pink and reapplied atomic again after having roots done weeks later! La La love Special Effects, I have tried it all and this stuff rules!i'm a natural brunette and need to bleach first before application, i get my roots touched up every 6 weeks or so. I also use super cooler treated hair shampoo and condition and leave in conditioner when swimming in the ocean or pool. THis stuff sticks to the follicles folks! these pictures are in all different types of light, including backlight! What What!!!

Meghan- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Cupcake Pink, Atomic Pink in back

Original Hair Color and Process: My hair is originally dark brown and I used Manic Panic Bleach 40 vol to bleach the back, which turned it into an orangey blonde shade and also used the same bleach to re-bleach the front of my hair that had been orangey red from a previous dye job. The front of my hair became a banana shade blonde. The two photos were taken right after dying my hair and almost 3 weeks later the Atomic Pink it still very vibrant while the Cupcake has faded into a light, pastel pink.

Valerie and client- Hair dyes used: Special Effects Virgin Rose, Fish Bowl, Manic Panic Flamingo Pink

im a hair stylist, thats the salon behind me. i have bleached my hair previously but not this time, my natural color is a level 5 mousey brown, easy to bleach and takes abuse well with LOTS of conditioning!! this is special effect virgin rose and fishbowl. i applied the colors directly on top of other colors that had faded. in this picture the virgin rose is a month old and the fishbowl is fresh. the virgin rose holds really well. the fishbowl comes out greener than i would like, i think its time for some bleaching. i love this website its great for ideas now that i know its here ill be sending more pics of me and my clients.
Pics 2 & 3- This is my client, she came in all black with 5 months worth of regrowth. i bleached accordingly and applied a mix of manic panic flamingo pink and special effects virgin rose. i touched up the black, cleaned up the cut and blew her dry. i love what i do!! birds of a feather!!

cherry bomb mixed together. :D and the one after is from the same night. :D i love special effects <333

Miranda- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Cupcake Pink, Fishbowl, Nuclear Red

I used special effects hair dye for this.
Pic 1 & 2 I used cupcake pink, and fishbowl, I picked random chunks of it
and dye'd them cupcake pink, and the rest of my hair I dyed fishbowl.
My hair before I dyed it was light blonde. I did bleach my hair first.
Pic 3 I used Nuclear red dye. My hair was either blonde, or a faded color before I started.
I bleached my hair before I started coloring it.
I dye my hair all the time.

Maddie- Hair Dye used: Fudge Pretty Flamingo

I have been dyeing my hair for over 15 years and my favourite brand of dye was Fudge Paintbox. Since I moved to the US from Australia it is really hard to find, so I started using Special Effects after I found your website.I love it!!
My hair is naturally a medium brown, so I always bleach it before I dye it. I usually don't
combine colours, but when the pink I had in started to fade I put red over the top and it
made the red so much more vibrant! In the first pic (wearing sunglasses) I have in Fudge Paintbox Pretty Flamingo,
it's about a week or 2 after I coloured it for the third time. The second pic is about a month after I coloured it with
Pretty Flamingo for the second time.

Hair dye used: Special Effects Hi-Octane Orange, Iguana Green, Blue Mayhem, Pimpin Purple, Atomic Pink

The 4th pic (below) i used hi-octane orange, iguana green, blue mayhem, pimpin purple, and atomic pink! 2 washes
I love SE colors they last long a fade pretty if applied correctly. Joyride is one color i'm not happy with!

Meagan- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink, Bright as #*@$ Yellow, Blue Velvet

In the first picture I used Special Effects Atomic Pink and Bright as @!?$ Yellow after bleaching my hair. I left the colour on over night and washed it out the next morning. This pic was taken a few days afterwards. In the second picture, I used Special Effects Blue Velvet as well as Atomic Pink. I applied these colours over top of an older application of the pink and yellow. Again, the colour was left on over night as washed the next morning. This pic was taken the same day it was washed out. The colours lasted a really long time. It was probably about 2 months after that I had to touch it up.

Nikie- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Pimpin Purple, Special Effects Wildflower, Manic Panic Rock n Roll Red

My hair is naturally dark brown.
#1 and #2: Special Effects, Pimpin' Purple. I bleached it after using Manic Panic's Rock and Roll Red. Because of the remaining pink tinge, the Pimpin' Purple left some bright pink bits. The first picture is what I looked like about a week after dying it. The second picture is about a month after dying it. It faded into a very rich pink.

#3: bleached out the Pimpin' Purple and got a highlighter-pink effect. #4 and #5: Dyed over the highlighter-bleach pink with Special Effects Wild Flower. #4 is a few days after dying, #5 is about a month after dying. It sort of turned silver.

Veronica-Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

Chelli- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink, Blue Velevet, Fishbowl, Punky Lagoon Blue

Special FX: I redyed my hair using SFX Atomic Pink, Blue Velvet,
and Fishbowl mixed with Lagoon Blue. The pink in my hair was
faded to a reddish orange colour when I used SFX. Considering this,
I can't believe how long it lasted.

May- Hair Dye used: Manic Panic Hot Hot Pink, Special Effects Atomic Pink

I had a top layer of my naturally dark-brown hair lifted at a salon twice until it was as light as possible.
The bottom part was dyed black, and I used Manic Panic Hot Hot Pink on the blonde.
I only washed once every three days to maintain the color, and when I did I used a conditioner mixed with Special Effects Atomic Pink to keep it bright.
The first picture is of me the day it was dyed. The second is after a few weeks of washing it every day without my special conditioner (probably a few months after first dying it.)

Francesca-Hair Dye used: Special Effects Cupcake Pink and Atomic Pink

I used Special Effects Cupcake left on for an hour or so over hair bleached to a yellowy blonde.
This was done late September, the picture was taken in mid-October.

This was done the monday before Halloween and the picture was taken two weeks later.

Electrolux-Hair Dye used: Special Effects Fishbowl, Atomic Pink

BRAND: Special Effects (I swear by this stuff!)
COLORS: Fish Bowl & Atomic Pink
Before I started, I bleached my hair to white-blonde (still visible in the photograph). I've been blessed with naturally light hair so getting it white has never been a problem. In this photo, the dye is about a week old. To keep the colours bright, I always wash my hair in cold water, and mix a little bit of dye in with my shampoo when the colour needs refreshing.

I used a mix of Virgin Rose and Atomic Pink, both by Special Effects, I would say 80% VirginRose, 20% Atomic Pink, I did not Bleach my hair and my hair before applying the color was a light brown. The dye stays in well, The first picture was right after dying it and the second one is after four months without any touch up. Mine stays in so well and long because I am never in the sun and do not use any hairspray or gel, as this strips out the color fast.

Brooce- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink and Fishbowl

Pictures 1 : Hair dye used: Special Effects Atomic pink and Fishbowl (+offbrand colorenhancer)I started out with Atomic Pink, which I'd let grow out for 2-3 months. My roots are dark brown, and I bleached those to a light blond withquick blue powder and a 40 vol. creme developer, and dyed everything but the tips (which I left pink) with a mixture of Fishbowl and a Clairolblue color enhancer. Emma- Hair Dye used: Manic Panic Hot Hot Pink

I have been using manic panic for over a year now, and i am positively in love with it. for the hot hot pink, i did the same thing, i washed my naturally blonde hair throughly to make sure it was clean, then dryed it with a hairdryer and seperated my hair, leaving out the sections i wanted to be coloured. then i put on gloves and applied the dye with a tint brush.

Vicious Viv-Hair Dye used: Manic Panic Hot Hot Pink, Ultra Violet, Atomic Turquoise, Cotton Candy Pink

Before I dyed my hair any colors, I used Flash Lightning Kit to bleach my hair almost a white shade.
I love Manic Panic Ive been using it since I was in middle school, but I keep hearing about Special Effects so im going to try it out.

Hair dye used: Manic Panic: Hot Hot Pink (diluted), Atomic Turqouise (diluted), and Ultra Violet (diluted). Hot Hot Pink was used in the front, Atomic Turqouise was used in the back, and Ultra Violet was used down the middle of my hair, over bleached white hair, which is naturally dark brown.

Elyse- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

The brand of dye I used was Special Effects Atomic Pink. No othercolors were used, just straight up Atomic Pink. My hair is naturallya dirty blonde/light brown color, but I bleached it with a light 20volume bleach to a very light blonde. These pics are taken at variousstages, but I can assure you that I only have to dye my hair (notincluding roots) every two months or so with Atomic Pink...also, itstains fiberglass bathtubs but it's well worth it ;)

Nik-Hair Dye used: Special Effects and Manic Panic

I have been dyeing my hair for ages and have used both Manic Panic and Special Effects colors, as well as some Punky Colour shades. I find that Special Effects lasts the longest, but sometimes I still use MP in a pinch if I need a touchup while I wait for some SE color to ship. Anywho, here we go.... Pic #1 is a combo of Special Effects Blue Velvet and Special Effects Purple Smoke over salon highlights, touched up with Manic Panic Black and Blue - very subtle but very cool looking under the right light. Pic 2 is Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink over bleached hair (very early after dyeing.... it faded super fast). The third picture is Punky Red Wine over a faded all-over application of red L'Oreal Colour Rays. The last picture is of Special Effects Atomic Pink over bleached hair (a couple of weeks after dyeing.... this shade lasts for ages).

Kirsten- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Virgin Rose

I've dyed my hair several funky colors, but currently I'm rocking
Special Effects' Virgin Rose (with a little bit of Splat's Pink Fetish
thrown in for good measure). I bleached my hair from a medium
brown to a very light blonde---though this isn't necessary to acheive
a vibrant pink---using Wella bleach powder (amazing stuff!) and
generic 30 vol. developer. This picture was taken about four weeks
after dying, so you can see my roots already beginning to show.
Virgin Rose dyes on pretty purple, but quickly fades to the bright
pink you see here. I'll be keeping this for a while. :)

Ayana-Hair Dye used: Special Effects Nuclear Red, Hi-Octane Orange, Atomic Pink

I mixed different portions of each color until I got the color I desired, tested it on a white paper towel, then let it sit for an hour under no heat. My hair was a medium copper red all over and a little darker in the front and a lot lighter on the side from pre-bleaching. This picture was taken about an hour after I had colored my hair.

Gracie-Hair Dye use: Special Effects Atomic Pink

I used special effects atomic pink on bleached to nearly white hair
my natural color is medium brown the dark brown you see is dyed and the blonde is bleached
all pics are right after having been dyed except the second one-thats an example of about a month after (the atomic pink seems to last much longer than other colors) The first picture with the blonde hair... i only left the color on for about 30 minutes on all others i left it on at the very least an hour... i work at a salon (im not a stylist) and we have found that flat ironing the hair after dying it seems to help seal the color in too... the 3rd piclooks more red but it must have ben the lighting... it was also an all over application that gave my dark brown hair a hint of pink color too... all sections were foiled and bleached first

Ashley- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Cherry Bomb and Pimpin Purple

The first photo shows all dimensions of my hair. My natural color, the color
my roots are bleached when dying, and the dyed hair. The upper half of the
colored part of my hair (from about my jawline to the bleach) is about 2 months
old. I actually let the dye sit anywhere from 1 hour to 3 or 4 hours if I can. I
applied the color over already dyed hair for maximum brightness.

The second photo was taken with a full head of Cherry Bomb applied 8 days
prior and having been washed twice since then. I only bleach my roots once,
to a pale blonde, and I always apply the dye over my already pink hair for the
brightest possible effect all over and to avoid having to damage my hair by
repeatedly bleaching it all over. I let the dye sit for only 1 hour before rinsing this time.

Amy K's Hair stylin- Hair Dye used: Special Effects listed below!

Catherine- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Virgin Rose and Deep Purple

I'm Catherine from Alaska.
I bleached my hair to a light blonde before putting chunks of 'Virgin Rose'
and 'Deep Purple' in my hair and I left it on for 30 minutes for each streak.
The picture of me with the wavy hair was two days after dying it, and it
hadn't been washed yet. The flash from my camera washed it out a little.
The straight hair picture was taken about two weeks after dying it, and it
had been washed around four times.
I've now had my hair done for about a month and the colors have not faded much,
and Virgin Rose is a FANTASTIC color to have if you want a hot pink at first that will
fade to a light cotton candy pink after time.
I suggest using sulfate-free shampoo and rinsing your hair in cold water, to
preserve the color longer.
All around, I am very happy with Special Effects.

Leah- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

This is me with Special Effects, Atomic Pink, ordered from FunkyShop - applied over
bleached dark brown hair. I actually like this color best after it's faded a little from
several washings. The photos attached were taken about a month after I put the
dye in, and it lasted quite a long time except for the ends which you can see are a little light.

Celine- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Cupcake Pink

After bleaching all of my brown hair to a nice pale blonde, I left
Special Effects' Cupcake Pink on for 30 minutes. It has been a month
since I dyed my hair and it faded nicely to a pale baby pink.

Lizzette-
Hair Dye used:Manic Panic Hot Hot Pink

I bleached my hair with 40 volume first, my hair is crazy dark and I need it to be crazy light to get my colors as bright as they can get. The instructions on the jar say to leave the color in for about 15-30 minutes but I leave it in for about an hour and hit it with a blow dryer, the color lasts longer and stays brighter that way :].

I´m Patricia from Brazil and here´s some pictures of my hair.
My hair is black and I bleach it first (to a golden blonde).
The pictures shown were taken the next day. (*except the rainbow- atomic pink and plum - 45 days after dyed them*)

Sofi-
Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

What color was your hair before you started? Dark blonde
Did you bleach your hair first? Yes
How long has it been since you dyed it? Three months

freshccs- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Virgin Rose

i used special effects hair dye, which i think is the most greatest dye ever..
i used virgin rose colour over dyed blonde hair and my hair is naturaly almost black brown..
its been about 5/6 months since i dyed it and it still looks great..
the first picture is a day after colouring
the second picture is the night i dyed it
the third pic is a few weeks after colouring
and the last pic is months after and still beautiful..

Tasha-
Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

I used SE Atomic Pink over very bleached hair. I have dark ash-blonde hair naturally, and bleached it with 40vol bleach for about 1/2 hour, which absolutely killed it. I used a Keratine conditioner to re-strengthen my hair and then put in the pink, which lasted very well probably because of the damage! picture 1 is a few days after dyeing! glowinthedark picture is with a blacklight, shortly after dyeing! =D Pic 3 -after 2 months haha I've refreshed the color twice since the initial dyeing (first was Jan of 2009, then March 09, then April). I wash my hair every 2-3 days, and it's lasted well and faded to a still acceptable shade of pink after a month or so.

Sara-
Hair Dye used: Special Effects Virgin Rose and Blue Mayhem

My hair was dyed black when I started and I bleached it,
and then applied the Special Effects toner to get the yellow tones out.
I try to get my hair as white as possible each time I bleach. My roots are
naturally a light brown so they turn out a lot lighter then the bottom part of my hair.
To keep the colours separate when I'm colouring, I part my hair into sections,
then use plastic wrap to make sure they don't mix.
The colours are 3 days old in this picture. The reason I love using Special Effects so much
is because the colour lasts SO long. I usually refresh the colour every 6 weeks or so.

Madison-
Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

I used special effects atomic pink, but I had to bleach the crap out of my hair fist since my
natural color is dark brown.
This was taken about a month and a half in. I've had my hair this way for almost six months
now and have only redone the color three times; it hardly fades at all!

Morgasaur-
Hair Dye used: First photo-Special Effects Joy Ride
Second photo-Special Effects Wild Flower and Sonic Green

It had been around a month since I last dyed it. For the Joyride, I used 40 volume developer and bleach. I left it on for about forty minutes until my hair was very pale blonde, then applied the color. I wished it would have lasted longer, however. I think perhaps because it's a lighter color, it faded faster, lasting only two, three weeks at best.
For the two tone, It had been around a month since I last dyed it. Wildflower and Sonic Green lasted about four weeks. The same bleaching process as above was used. As far as hair separation goes, my haircut sort of did it for me (all the very short, shaved parts, the sides and the back, I did green; the longer parts, I did purple).

Rainbow colors: Special Effects Atomic Pink, Napalm Orange, Bright As F@#$ Yellow, Limelight, and Fishbowl.

It had been around a month since I last dyed it. For the rainbow, the same bleaching process/ingredients as above were used. This one was kind of tricky. I judged it by eye (how I do most of my hair) and started with the front, by applying color, and then wrapping that section in tin foil. I did that with all five colors. The pink and orange lasted around three or four weeks. The green, yellow and blue lasted around two.

Sabiko-
Hair Dye used- Special Effects Atomic Pink and Blood Red

For the first, I used Special Effects Atomic Pink (mid October 08). I bleached my hair two days before from a light brown, otherwise I didn't do anything special.
The second pic is about two months later. Still looks pretty much the same, just the roots were peeking out.
Third pic-I decided to redye and picked Special Effects Blood Red this time. I bleached my roots, but didn't mess with the pink. Maybe that's why, but the color didn't last nearly as long (about 2.5 weeks). Too bad, because I really love how it looked!
Fourth pic- As it faded... The pink was still there, bright as ever. This picture was taken about a month and a half after the red dye - early February - almost five months and the pink is STILL going strong! I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a vibrant pink with serious staying power. This stuff is BRIGHT. Pictures just don't do it justice. Not a quiet color, that's for sure. I've gotten tons of comments both good and bad, people asking the product name, little kids craning out of strollers to stare at my hair, audible gasps as people's corneas are seared, etc. I've even had old ladies tell me they wish they could dye their hair pink. I always tell them to go for it!

Brittany-
Hair Dye used:First- Manic Panic Midnight Blue, Second- Special Effects Atomic Pink

The blue was about 1 week after the dye
The pink was about 2 weeks after the dye.
First I had prelightened my hair, and in the case of the blue I had added red (from another brand)
and blue in various places on my head and let it sit...and... viola!
With the pink first I dyed my tips purple, then I put the pink.
I loved the colors, right now my hair is a more natural brownish/red, but I will soon be going a little crazier.

Tiffany-
Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

This is Special Effects Atomic Pink over freshly bleached hair.
The first picture is the day I dyed it, but it really doesn't fade, as you can see
in the second picture which is a month and a half later.
It's still really bright even in the dark setting

Kim-
Hair Dye used- Special Effects Deep Purple and Special Effects Atomic Pink & Deep Purple

First is very bleached hair, and strips of deep purple.
Second was All Atomic Pink and at the crown added a little deep purple and it is all over very bleached hair.
Atomic pink lasts forever, just don’t wash your hair as much.

Krystle-
Hair Dye used- Special Effects Cupcake Pink

First i used bleach and processed for about an hour to achieve a light blonde color. Then i just applied an entire bottle of Special Effects Cupcake Pink hair dye to my whole head in layers to make sure that it was saturated, then covered in a shower cap and allowed it to process for 45 minutes, rinsed and tah dah! Dark brown before i just dyed it today.

Jenna and Allyson-
Hair Dye used first photo:
Jenna- Rainbow: Special Effects Napalm Orange, Virgin Rose, Electric Blue, Deep Purple
Allyson- Special Effects Napalm Orange and bleached blonde.

Second photo:
Jenna- Special Effects Atomic Pink and black

What brand of hair dye did you use? Special Effects!! I love it and have the best results with it. I recommend it (and funkyshop) to everyone who asks about my hair, which in Fairbanks Alaska is alot of people. I'm easy to spot!
My rainbow hair is done with Napalm Orange, Virgin Rose, Electric Blue and Deep Purple, in a fade, applied all at once in a back to front application. Daughter Allyson's hair is Napalm and Bleach Blonde.
The other picture of me is Atomic Pink and Black.
What color was your hair before you started? Medium Brown for both of us, we bleach it out prior.
This is an ongoing process, it changes every 6-8 weeks. The rainbow hair photo was about a month after I had dyed it, the atomic pink photo was about 3 weeks after I had dyed it. (I'm dying my hair purple/blue/black even as I am typing this.

Kelsey-
Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

Picture taken: Two weeks after coloring
Bleached: Using 40 volume bleach
Original hair color: Dark blonde
The orange/yellow dreads in the back are fake hair pieces and were not dyed with anything. But the pink in the front is all Special Effects!
It works great. Especially if you can go for long periods of time without washing your hair.

Rebecca-
Hair dye used: Special Effects Nuclear Red, Napalm Orange in two pics. Then Rebecca's Tequila Sunrise- Nuclear Red, Atomic Pink, and bleach.

Rebecca and Molly-
These are combinations of Nuclear Red, Atomic Pink, Napalm Orange, Wildflower and Burgundy Wine.

\
My sister and I have been dying our hair with Special Effects hair dye for about three years now. We always bleach it out before putting the bright colors on, and have developed some techniques to make it last. I never have to re-dye because the color fades, only because my roots grow out!!
-We always use Special Effects... it is by far the best bright hair dye on the market!!
-Yes it is necessary to bleach our hair out before dying it, but we only bleach out the natural color, once the dye is in it stays. We do, however, put new color on top of the old dye job, it really mixes up the color and creates some cool shades! Keep in mind that the colors do change between a fresh dye and after a few washes.. so account for it when you decide what colors to use. I find that mixing the pinks, oranges and reds doesn't show up much in the beginning, but as the color fades they really come out!
-None of these pictures were taken immediately after dying, they all have at least a few weeks on them.
-Rebecca & Molly

Becca-
Hair Dye used- Special Effects Atomic Pink

I used Manic Panic Vol. 40 bleach, for 45 minutes, turning my hair a light yellow.
After that I added Special Effects Atomic Pink hair dye to my hair for 10 minutes.
Picture 1- Batman- Freshly dyed, 1 week after application.
Picture 2- One month After Application .
-Becca-

Laura-
Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

I used Special Effects Atomic Pink hair dye. I bleached my fringe to a really light blonde before dying.
The first picture was about 2 days after applying it (June).
The second one was taken in October. It hardly faded at all in the first month!

Trish-
Hair Dye used: Special Effects Nuclear Red and Candy Apple Red, Cupcake Pink

I used half a bottle of Special Effects Nuclear Red mixed with a half bottle Candy Apple Red.
My hair is medium to dark brown with a hint of natural red.
I bleached some chunks in it, and they didn't turn out well, so I applied the 1/2 and 1/2 mixture to my whole head, even the dark natural color portion.
I put the bleach chunks in it a week ago, and just did the SE red mixture today. So the new red color, was just a couple hours ago.

Here's Trish again, this time with Special Effects Cupcake Pink streaks!

Meagan-
Hair Dye Used-
Pic 1-Special Effects Blue Velvet
Pic 2- Manic Panic Hot Hot Pink
Pic 3-Manic Panic Pillar Box Red or Wildfire

Every time I use a different colour, I bleach out that section of hair to get rid of the last colour. In the picture on the left, I used Special Effects - Blue Velvet. This was my first application after bleaching my hair. It tends to get darker after ever application. The blue doesn't start to fade for at least six to eight weeks.
In the picture in the center, I used Manic Panic - Hot Hot Pink. This picture was taken after several applications. The pink lasted about two to three weeks, if I was lucky.
In the picture on the right, I used Manic Panic - either Pillar Box Red or Wildfire. I used a jar of both around the same time period but they turned out to be basically the same colour. The only difference is that Wildfire glows under black light. This picture was taken after several applications of the red. Either red lasted about two weeks, but after, would fade to an ugly orange colour.

Jessi-
Hair Dye used- Special Effects Atomic Pink

These are some pics taken the day after I died my hair with Special Effects atomic pink. My hair is naturally dark brown. I had bleached my hair until it was light blonde except the hair that was close to my scalp which was a golden blonde before using the atomic pink. It lasted over a month before any loss of the color. I loved it, my hair was a real eye catcher and my kids could always find me in a crowd. -Jessi-

-Natasha Elise
Hair Dye used-Special Effects Atomic Pink

This picture was taken after bleaching my mousy brown hair and dyeing with Special Effects Atomic Pink. Years later, I am still using this dye. For a less conspicuous look, my hair is now dark brown with atomic pink highlights. I retouch every 4 - 6 weeks. And yes, at the end of that time frame the my is still pink. And yes I do shampoo regularly!

Athena-
Hair Dye used- Special Effects Atomic Pink

Hey, this is a picture of my 8 year old daughter Athena. We first had her hair bleached at a salon then I brought her home and applied the Special Effects Atomic Pink, it's a little light because we ran out. She absolutely loves this color, we had the hardest time finding it after the local store stopped carrying it. She didn't want any other pink, we're glad we found it.

Bekki
Hair Dye used-Special Effects Cupcake Pink and Fishbowl

My name is Bekki and I have been dying my hair for over 6 years using a variety of things from bingo dabber, to food color, to hair dye. My favorite hair dye is definitly Special Effects. My hair in the picture was bleached to get the colors to stick better. The pink is Cupcake pink by Special Effects and the green is fishbowl green by special effects. That is a fresh dye job, only hours old. I was running low on fishbowl which is why it isn't as vibrant. My natural hair color is a dark brown.

Margo
Hair Dye used- Special Effects Pimpin Purple, Fishbowl, and Blue Mayhem

Hi, my name is Margo . I've been dyeing my hair for about 13 years. I bleached my hair beforehand so the dye would be bright. I used three colors of Special Effects: the front section is Pimpin Purple, the stripe in the middle is Fish Bowl Blue, the back is Blue Mayhem. Some of the Fishbowl was layered on top of the Pimpin Purple which is why there is dark blue around the stripe. This was taken a day after I'd dyed it.

Mary Ann-
Hair Dye used- Special Effects Cupcake Pink and Atomic Pink

This is me with pink hair, my hair was black/dark brown before because i used to dye my hair black (i'm a natural blonde), so i used a decolorizer and then bleached it a little bit, i've applied a mix of sfx (Special Effects) cupcake pink & atomic pink. I Loved it ! I've dyed it in august 2007 but now my hair is blue but i miss my pink so im gonna redo it ^^.
